The Garden of Eden Church is collecting for Metropolitan Ministries in a box in the rec hall. This organization serves poor and homeless families throughout the year in the Tampa area. The Lake Como Yacht Club invites all boat owners to a grand regatta every Sunday at 2 pm. Passage for land-lubbers may be available from some boat captains at the floating dock across the lawn from the pool.
It’s turtle nesting season
One of the places we’ve spotted buried turtle eggs is in the flower bed right outside the recreation hall front door. This area, and any other places where turtles are nesting, will be marked and cordoned off. Please do not disturb these areas…and please stay out of all the flower beds in the park.
Pool & Hot Tub Renovation starts Tuesday May 28th
The pool and hot tub have been in operation for many years with only minor repairs. We’ve recently had some leaks, and the pool concrete is starting to flake off. Major renovation will involve draining the pool & hot tub and acid washing and completely refinishing all surfaces to make everything “good as new”. Renovation typically takes 4-6 weeks, so it is anticipated the pool and hot tub will be closed at least during all of June.
Grand Reopening of Lake Como Pool Saturday July 13th
While we anticipate the pool will reopen for use earlier, we are planning a Grand Reopening to coincide with International Skinny Dip Day Saturday July 13th. Poolside music by Nunes at Night. INFO
Aqua Aerobics classes will not be held May 6th or May 9th. Classes resume May 13th and continue till pool closure May 28th.

WINR (Women in Nude Recreation ) final meeting of the season will be at the Naturist Women’s Rendezvous May 17-19. (WINR returns to meeting at Como from Sept. 2024 through May 2025 every third Wednesday in the rec hall.)
