I’m excited to share that the beach deck is now complete! We’ve placed our new (to us) patio furniture on the deck and throughout the beach area for everyone to enjoy. In addition to the deck, we’ll be making other updates to breathe new life into the beach and create a more inviting, energized amenity here at lake Como.
This is where I need your cooperation. The boat storage area has become overcrowded and difficult to maintain. Please take a moment to review the current Rules & Regulations for Boats:
4.11 Boats. Boats, including motorized boats, sailboats, canoes, and kayaks, must be owned by a resident and registered at the Office. Residents with lots/units on the lake may dock their boats adjacent to their property. Other residents may store their non-trailered boats at the beach and in the storage areas. Boats may be stored at the beach while the owner is currently in residence and is using the boat, which must display the resident’s lot/unit number. Boats stored at the beach without a lot/unit number or not used will be considered abandoned after six months and disposed of by the Resort. Although boats used exclusively in private lakes and ponds are not required to have State registration, the Resort requires that any vessel on the lake after dark have functioning nightlights. Federal and State safety requirements must be observed. No jet skis or similar watercraft are permitted on any lake in the Resort. The speed limit for a motorized boat is 15 mph. Skiing on the lake is prohibited except for special events. Boats may be washed either at the resident’s lot/unit or at the area adjacent to the master pumping station.

Here are photos of the areas from which boats will be removed if they do not comply with these rules. Non-compliant boats will be taken to maintenance in early May and disposed of by the end of May if not claimed. Once the area is cleared, we will clearly mark designated boat storage zones at the beach if not in the water.
Additional improvements are also planned, including (but not limited to): installation of a children’s playset, new chairs around the firepit, and general upgrades to the surrounding areas such as the horseshoe courts. Please remember that the lounge chairs stored under the pavilion are intended for use on the beach only and should not be removed from that area.
These updates are meant to enhance everyone’s experience—not just of the beach itself, but of the beautiful lake views as well. We kindly ask that you do your part in keeping our beach looking nice as we continue to improve it by cleaning up after yourself and returning items to their proper place after use.
If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please contact me via email or stop in the office next week. I appreciate your assistance with my request!
Debbie Poland,
General Manager

The Lake Como Yacht Club invites all boat owners to a grand regatta every Sunday at 2 pm, weather permitting. Passage for land-lubbers may be available from some boat captains at the floating dock.
